Christies Beach Football Club
HISTORY
Christies Beach Football Club first entered the Southern Football League in 1964 with Junior Colts (U13) and Senior Colts (U16) being the inaugural teams.
The initial season was marked with success by the Junior Colts taking home the premiership, beating McLaren Vale in the Grand Final. The club has since then gone on to build to have seniors, juniors and minis sides.
In 2016, the Christies Beach Football Club formed its first women’s team, playing in the Adelaide Footy League competition. In 2017, the A Grade Women side finished off with the premiership win. Our juniors girls side have seen massive success in the Southern Football League, fielding both U14 (2019& 2020 Premiers) and U17 (2021, 2022 & 2023 Premiers) We now have a talented side of junior teams, fielding both U14 and U17 girls side.
2019 saw the formation of the first I League team (for players with intellectual disabilities) in the southern area with Christies Beach Football Club entering a team in the SANFL Inclusive League. The team has given everyone a place to be able to play the sport they love and had incredible success, playing in the 2022 Grand Final, going down to Kennilworth 3.5 (23)- 9.6 (60).
In 2023, we had 11 teams play in a premiership season. 4 senior teams, 5 junior teams and 7 minis teams. We had 3 teams finishing as 2023 Minor premiers; A-Grade Women’s, U17.5 Boys & U17 Girls 2 teams played in a Grand Final game and our U17 Girls won the game to go on to be the 2023 Premiers.
